The problem
The original covering was past its best, with mortar-bedded ridge that had started to crack and roofline timbers showing their age.
Work undertaken
The house was fully scaffolded and the old covering stripped. New membrane and treated battens went down, interlocking concrete tiles were laid, and the ridge was fixed with a ventilated dry-fix system. Fascias and guttering were renewed at the same time.
Materials and system
Interlocking concrete tiles on treated battens over breathable membrane, dry-fix ridge system, new uPVC fascias and guttering, renewed lead flashings.
The finished result
A tidy, low-maintenance roof that will not need repointing, with the roofline renewed in the same visit so the whole job is on one maintenance cycle.
