The problem
The existing conservatory had a polycarbonate roof that made the room too hot in summer and too cold in winter, with noise from rain making it unusable during downpours.
Work undertaken
The old roof and glazing bars were removed, the frame was checked and reinforced where needed, and a lightweight insulated solid roof was installed. The covering was finished in slate with rooflights, the abutment to the house was properly flashed, and new guttering was connected.

Lightweight insulated roof deck, slate finish, rooflights, lead flashings at the wall abutment, and new white guttering.
The finished result
The conservatory now stays warm in winter, cool in summer, and quiet in the rain, with a roofline that matches the main house.
